Flood Certificates for 2008 Flood

Problem
Due to the flood of 2008, many properties were flooded. The City of Cedar Rapids owned over 100 of the properties flooded. In order to determine the amount of flood insurance, the City needed to provide elevation certificates. Enter Brain Engineering.
Solution
Brain Engineering was selected to collect the data necessary and prepare the certificates. The data required was determining the elevation of the floors of the structures, lowest and highest adjacent grade, and the elevation of the 100-year flood plain relative to each of the 100 sites.
Finished Project
The City of Cedar Rapids was able to determine their flood insurance risk for those properties they owned that flooded. Brain Engineering converted an overwhelming situation into accurate and concrete data.
